Lokafyer Profile: Annalisa

We have Lokafyers all over the world that make our company wheels turn. They are all amazing in their own ways and we are incredibly lucky to have them. With over 2000 of them all across the planet, we have met some amazing people that go above and beyond.

In this new series, we will be featuring a different Lokafyer and exploring their city life. This week we will be featuring the wonderful Annalisa from Venice! We asked her a few questions about herself and her blissful life in the Italian city.

So Annalisa, tell us a little bit about yourself!

Annalisa: I was born in Italy but I feel citizen of the whole world; I’ve been living and working in many foreign countries, and this taught me a lot. I love art, I love good food, I love history. I most of all love my city where I’ve finally came back after many years abroad and I feel lucky to be able to share this love with other people!

Why did you decide to come back to Venice?

Anna: I was gone for almost 20 years! I left when I was 19 to study abroad and ended up moving around. I lived in Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Miami and a bit in Canada! I came home because I started to become home sick. Some of my friends thought I was crazy for coming back, but I knew it was what I needed to do. I don’t regret leaving because it opened up my mind and let me see the world. I learned languages from all over and it made me soak in so much culture.

Why did you decide to become a Lokafyer?

Anna: I joined because I love to meet people from all around the world and I thought it would be great to do that while showing them my city: two of the thing I love most in one shot!

What do you love most about your city?

Anna: Venice is one of a kind. Enough said!

If someone came to visit you, where would you take them to eat?

Anna: At my home, of course! And I would prepare my pizza! Otherwise, I would go for a Osteria* here in Venice: probably OSTERIA AI PUGNI o OSTERIA PONTINI. Less fancy than a “ristorante” but way more authentic, fresh and cheap. Italian food is all about freshness and simplicity, this is why you always better choose a place run by a family

* An Osteria is a simple place where you can go to enjoy wine and small meals. It isn’t technically a restaurant but something a bit more simple and inexpensive!

When you aren’t doing Lokafy tours, what are you doing?

Anna: I am usually working at the art gallery that I work at full time. I love the water and going to the beach and just hanging out with my friends when I have spare time! I also enjoy listening to classical music and going to the theatre as well! The mountains are also incredibly beautiful and such a great activity.

We at Lokafy want to thank Annalisa for sharing her life with us and continuing to be such an amazing Lokafyer! We appreciate you so much!
