5. Beat the Heat with Ice Cream
Here’s a list of three ice cream shops you must try in New York City:
1. 10Below Ice Cream
At 10Below get yourself scooped up rose-shaped curls of ice cream. The technique includes pouring cream on top of cold metal containers causing it to freeze rapidly, and then scooping it up with a spatula, a technique inspired by ice cream shops in Thailand.

2. Alchemy Creamery
Alchemy Creamery specializes in vegan, dairy-free deliciousness. That’s right, vegan and dairy-free. The frozen treats include their signature push-up pop, a blend of cashews, coconut, almonds, and hazelnut. You’ll never know you’re missing eggs or milk. Their flavors range from harvest berry to salted caramel to almond vanilla. Alchemy’s pops are also kosher, gluten-free and animal-friendly.
This dessert shop in New York City’s Chinatown tops egg waffles with ice cream and other toppings. Egg waffles are a popular Hong Kong street snack. The ice cream is rolled in the egg waffle, which comes in original, matcha, and chocolate. Although these creations are not unique to New York, they’re definitely a must try wherever you are.
