I’m Anastacia, a passionate storyteller and people person from Cape Town. I love meeting new people and sharing the rich culture, history, and hidden gems of my city. Becoming a Lokafyer felt natural because it allows me to combine my love for storytelling with my passion for connecting with travelers from all over the world.
What do you love most about the city you guide in?
Cape Town is a city of contrasts—majestic mountains, stunning coastlines, and a deep history that shapes its vibrant culture. I love how there’s always something new to discover, whether it’s a quiet beach, a lively market, or a historical landmark with an untold story.
Can you share a personal story about what led you to live in your current city?
I was born and raised in Cape Town, and despite life’s ups and downs, this city has always been home. Every street and neighborhood holds memories, from childhood adventures to moments of growth. Cape Town isn’t just where I live—it’s part of who I am.

There’s a small local coffee shop tucked away in a historic district where you can chat with locals and learn about the area’s past. I also love showing travelers the colorful streets of Bo-Kaap beyond the typical photo spots, where you can meet residents and hear their stories.
Can you describe your favorite neighborhood and why you love it?
Bo-Kaap is one of my favorites! The mix of vibrant colors, rich history, and warm community spirit makes it a must-visit. Plus, the Cape Malay food is unbeatable!
Do you have any favorite local traditions or events that you recommend to visitors?
The Cape Town Minstrel Carnival (Kaapse Klopse) is a must-see! It’s a colorful celebration of music and culture that takes over the city every New Year. If you’re here in summer, the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts are also a great way to enjoy live music in a stunning botanical garden setting.
