Terms and Conditions Lokafy.com (Last updated: June 13, 2025)

Below are the Terms and Conditions (T&C’s) that apply when using our website and our services. Any new features and/or services added to our current service shall also be subject to these T&C’s. To make these T&C’s easier to read we have provided additional everyday language summaries as a guide. They are just that, and are not legally binding.

1. Our offering

We connect you with locals to experience cities through the eyes of the people who live there.

Lokafy is an online platform for travelers seeking to experience a city by meeting with a local (Lokafyer) who shares personal insights, knowledge, and experiences of their city. Lokafy experiences may include walking tours, conversations, or other informal activities. Through our website or third-party partners, travelers can book Lokafy experiences in cities worldwide. Lokafy does not offer professional guiding services. Lokafyers are not licensed tour guides. Travelers book Lokafy to meet locals, not for professionally guided tours.

2. Applicability of T&C’s

When you visit our website and/or use our services you agree to these T&C’s.

You must read these T&C’s before using our website and/or services. Use of our website and/or services, whether as a website visitor, traveler, or Lokafyer, constitutes your agreement to all terms and conditions contained here.

3. Reservations

You make a reservation on our website or through our partners we handle the rest.

When a reservation for a Lokafy experience is made through our website or one of our partner platforms, we will verify the availability of a suitable Lokafyer and make the arrangements for the experience. The reservation is only valid when confirmed by us via email or platform notification.

4. Payments

You pay the full amount beforehand.

For bookings made directly through Lokafy, full payment is required at the time of reservation. In some cases, if there are payment processing issues, payment may be collected at a later date prior to the scheduled experience. The full payment must be received before the experience is organized. Lokafy retains the full payment until after the experience has been completed, at which point the Lokafyer's portion is paid to them. No additional payments are required during the experience unless mutually agreed upon (for example: museum entrance tickets or other purchases made for the traveler). For bookings made through third-party platforms, payments are subject to those platforms’ payment policies.

5. Cancellations

Provide at least 24 hours notice to receive a full refund.

Booking cancelled by the traveler:
  • More than 24 hours before the experience date: You will be refunded 100% of the total price.
  • Less than 24 hours before the experience date: You won’t receive a refund.
    • Booking Changes Not Accepted:
  • Changes to your booking are not accepted less than 24 hours before the experience starts.
    • Booking cancelled by the Lokafyer:
  • 100% refund if rescheduling is not possible or not acceptable to the traveler.
  • In some cases, we may offer rescheduling or credit options if both parties agree.
    • 6. Applicable taxes

    Pay your taxes.

    It is the Lokafyer’s sole responsibility to determine which taxes are applicable under local tax laws and to pay any taxes related to income earned through Lokafy. These may include, but are not limited to, value-added taxes, sales taxes, personal or corporate income taxes, or other applicable fees. Lokafyers represent and warrant that they will comply with any applicable tax obligations.

    7. Conduct Expectations

    All travelers and Lokafyers are expected to:

  • Act respectfully toward each other.
  • Follow local laws and regulations during experiences.
  • Avoid any form of harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior.

    • Lokafy reserves the right to terminate access or participation for anyone violating these guidelines.

    8. Proprietary Material

    Don’t copy our content.

    All text, graphics, editorial content, data, formatting, designs, photos, videos, and other content (collectively "Proprietary Material") on this website is owned by us or used with permission. This material is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, download, modify, redistribute, or reuse any content without our prior written consent.

    9. Quality of Information

    While we do our best to verify the information provided by Lokafyers, we cannot guarantee its accuracy or completeness.

    In the event of misleading representation or misconduct on our website or during Lokafy experiences, we may, at our sole discretion, issue full or partial refunds to travelers and recover those amounts from the Lokafyer. No action taken by Lokafy shall be interpreted as acceptance of liability beyond what is expressly stated herein.

    Travelers are responsible for using their own judgment during Lokafy experiences.

    All information and services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

    10. Warranties

    We don’t give any warranties.

    We do not guarantee that our website and/or services will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the website or services at any time, with or without notice.

    11. Disclaimer

    We strive for accuracy, but errors may occur.

    We disclaim all warranties related to the use of our website and services, including but not limited to availability, reliability, or the quality of experiences offered through Lokafy. We are not responsible for any errors or omissions in content provided by Lokafyers, travelers, or any third parties. We do not endorse any product, service, or entity mentioned in user-generated content on our website. We hereby disclaim all warranties and conditions with regard to the use of our website and/or services, including, but not limited to, the availability, reliability, or quality of our website and services, the experiences distributed through us, including the nature and quality of the experiences, and is not and shall not be responsible for any error, fault or mistake of any and all content and information received through our us, including by Lokafyers or travelers. We do not endorse any entity, product or service mentioned in any user generated content available on our website.

    12. Liability

    We have limited liability.

    The use of our website, services, and participation in experiences is entirely at your own risk. Except as expressly stated, Lokafy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or participation in experiences. Where liability is mandatory by law, our total liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the traveler for the specific booking, or the amount payable to the Lokafyer, as applicable.
